Local student graduates Magna Cum Laude at Blackhawk College

Blackhawk College, East campus located in Kewanee, Ill. recently held commencement exercises. Curtis Naylor was a member of the Class of 2009. He graduated Magna Cum Laude and was a member of Phi Theta Kappa, International Honor Society.

Naylor received Associate in Applied Science degrees in Agri-Business Management and Agriculture Production Technology. He also received certificates in Animal Science, Beef Production and Swine Production along with Agri-business Management Crop Protection Technology Option. Naylor was awarded the distinction of top Agriculture student for 2009. He currently is working for Winfield Solutions, LLC.

Local residents graduate from Emory University

The following received a degree from Emory University in Atlanta, Ga., at its 164th commencement

ceremony May 11, 2009.

Marena Vittorio, of Rushville, received a Master of Sacred Music from the Graduate School of Emory University; Zane Zeigler, Greenfield, received an Associate in Arts from Oxford College of Emory University.

Marian College announces graduates, posts Dean’s List

Local students who earned a degree during the 2008-2009 academic year at Marian College are: Kelly Lynn Moffett, BA, Elementary Education, Rushville; Ashley Nicole Rapp, BSN, Nursing, Rushville.

On July 1 Marian College will become Marian University.

Rush County students who qualified for the Marian College Dean’s List include: Arica J. Coleman, Marketing, Carthage; Laura Elizabeth Neuman, Spanish, Rushville.
