The Friends Too Extension Homemakers Club of Orange Township met at 7 p.m. April 23 at the home of Gladys Kuhn. The meeting was opened by Ruth Kessler, vice-president.
Roll call was answered on experiences of the April 18 and the 1987 earthquakes. Jean Chandler gave lessons on healthful benefits of houseplants, organic fruits and vegetables, artificial sweeteners and hidden calories.
Ruth Kessler presented a helpful lesson on friendship in adulthood. Jean Chandler will present the next lesson on medicine.
Volunteers signed up to help at the county fair. Donations were made to Relay for Life.
Hostess Gladys Kuhn served strawberry pie for refreshments, assisted by Ruth Kessler.
Next meeting will be at 7 p.m. May 28 at the home of Linda Chandler.
Food Fad & Fashion
The Food Fad & Fashion Homemakers Club met at 7 p.m. May 1 at the home of Marva Dyer. Diana Todd called the meeting to order with the pledge to the flag and Homemakers Creed.
The lesson given by Susan Kirkpatrick was on taming the paper tiger – decluttering your papers. Roll call response was your favorite flower and was answered by 10 members. Sue Netherly gave the Inspirational.
More volunteers are needed to work in the Root Building. Family Conference is June 11 through 13. Pie crust in the Bake-a-Rama is to be made from scratch.
Refreshments were served and the evening was spent socializing.
