The Princess Theater was a popular destination during World War II gas rationing. Not only did many young couples flock there for movies, cooking schools like this one in March 1941 attracted a crowd. The United States hadn’t entered the war yet when this snapshot was taken but Dec. 7 wasn’t far away.
