Bailey benefit set for March 2

Rushville Republican

RUSHVILLE — There will be a benefit for Bill and Tina Bailey starting at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 2 at the Rushville American Legion. This event is being sponsored by the American Legion Riders.

Tina (Dudgeon) Bailey was diagnosed with ovarian cancer Nov. 20, 2012. She spent a month in St. Vincent Hospital and is currently undergoing chemo at the Sheehan Cancer Center at Rush Memorial Hospital in preparation for surgery.

Tina worked in the Deli/Bakery at the Rushville Kroger store for nearly 13 years; because of her illness she is no longer able to work.

Bill Bailey had a massive heart attack Dec. 21, 2012 and had to have triple-bypass surgery a few days later.

Bill had worked at Emerson, but is now unemployed.

Neither Bill nor Tina have insurance and are in need of the community’s help!

The benefit gets started at 11 a.m. with a cornhole tournament ($10 entry fee). A fried chicken dinner will be served at noon (donations accepted). There will also be a 50/50 drawing, auction, and music by local DJ Kevin Green. There may also be a band, but those arrangements have not yet been finalized.

To make a monetary donation or to donate something for the auction please call Carla Sharpe at 765-561-5080.
