This weekend’s performances by the Rush County Chorale at 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday will mark the 10th year the local choir has provided quality music and entertained to Rush County residents.
Formed in 2002, David Doyle has served as the Artistic Director since its inception.
Again this year, Mary Jane Truster and Ann Fenimore will serve as accompanists for the singers.
Through the years, the Chorale has performed at various locations, with this year’s performances being held on the Laughlin Center stage at Rushville Consolidated High School.
Tickets for both shows are $6 and available from any Chorale member or at the door the day of the show.
The Chorale is an outgrowth of the Rushville Music Study Club. The study group has a storied history itself, being formed locally more than 120 years ago in 1885 to share and celebrate musical talent by members of the community.
Annually, the vocal programs are centered on a theme, as is the case this holiday season.
Members recently were found in the Choir Room at RCHS, making final preparations for this weekend’s performances.
