In keeping with its automotive history, the city of Connersville, Indiana, is leading up to its Bicentennial Celebration June 28-July 7 with two transportation-themed events reflecting its past while bringing back a familiar favorite.
The official Bicentennial celebration begins Friday, June 28 with a flag raising ceremony at City Hall and activities throughout the day downtown and at Roberts Park at 30th and Park in Connersville.
Activities continue throughout the following 10 days, ending with Reunion Day on Sunday, July 7 and closing ceremonies, with a concert by national recording artist Neal McCoy in Roberts Park to end the celebration.
Throughout the Bicentennial a number of family activities will be going on at the park and downtown, with music featuring familiar names such as the Van Dells, JetSet GetSet and Tommy Daugherty Orchestra performing throughout the week.
