GREENSBURG - Headlining the 2013 Tree City Fall Festival in Greensburg is the legendary 1982 The Bama Band. For more than 20 years they performed as the touring band for superstar Hank Williams Jr. The band features Wayne “Animal” Turner, lead vocalist and guitarist, Billy Earheart, keyboardist, Ray Barrickman, bass guitarist and vocals, and Bill Marshall, on the drums. Together the band made four albums and each of the artists have performed with other famous artists such as Waylon Jennings and Reba McIntire.
The Bama Band has been nominated twice for the Academy of Country Music’s “Band of the Year” Award and continues to find success. Recently the band won the “Lifetime Achievement” award from the Ohio Country Music Association. Some of their Billboard Hot Country Singles chart in the 1980s included hit singles such as “Dallas,” “Tijuana Sunrise,” and “What Used to Be Crazy.”
Attendees of the Tree City Fall Festival will have the privilege of experiencing a free performance by The Bama Band. The concert will be held at 8 p.m. Sept. 27 on the Courthouse Square and admission is free. For additional information visit online at www.treecityfallfestival.com.
