Rush County Players invites community to stop by

RUSHVILLE — “Cheers to a new year and another chance for us to get it right.” This quote by Oprah Winfrey is a bit perplexing to me. The pessimist in me interprets it as, “We really messed

up last year & most of the years before that, and now we have been granted another chance to try to not mess it up again.” But the optimist in me reads, “How wonderful it is that each January 1 we ritualistically set goals and resolve to do whatever it takes to achieve them.” I would surmise that Oprah was intending the latter of my two definitions. And that is the outlook I prefer to take when it comes to Rush County Players.

Our New Year began with an opportunity that is moving us in that right direction. RCP is now meeting at, working out of, and performing at 306 North Main Street, Rushville, better known as the old P.N. Hirsch Rushville Republican store front, right next to the Rushville Pharmacy. Stop by and see what we have done with the place sometime. (We will be there on Wednesday and Thursday evenings rehearsing for the upcoming production of “Inherit the Wind”, which will open in mid-April.)

I believe that this is just the first of many steps in 2013 for RCP to continue to get it right.

Please join us in our journey. Contact me or any other board member if you are interested in joining, performing, serving, or just want to learn more about what we do.

Lisa Boaz serves as the RCP president.
