First Baptist Church of Rushville
“I want to eat those M&M’s...now!” You could see these words written across the child’s face as he stared at the pieces of candy on the table in front of him. He was participating in a study on delayed gratification, and if he exercised self-control and waited to eat the M&M’s, he would be rewarded with many more. If he ate them now, however, that was all he would get.
Patience is difficult for many of us. We don’t want to wait very long, we want things now. That is why we have microwave ovens, fast-food restaurants, and drive-through pharmacies! But sometimes we have to wait if we want to experience God’s best. The waiting process can be a rough journey, but there is a way to come through it successfully. Would you join us at First Baptist Church at 9:30 a.m. this Sunday when we will talk about how to wait on God to fulfill His promises in your life?
This week we are also honored to have with us the Edna Martin Children’s Center Praise Choir. These young people come from Indianapolis and will be ministering in music during part of the worship service. They are sure to be a blessing.
