Mary Louise Granger Artmeier, 96, of Greensburg, died Sept. 29, 2008.
Born May 28, 1912 in Decatur County, she was the daughter of Charles O. Granger and Mary Belle (Davis) Granger McGarry. She married Louis Artmeier Aug. 23, 1930; he preceded her in death June 23, 1993.
Mrs. Artmeier was a homemaker and was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Survivors include daughters, Geraldine Moore Brown of Greensburg, Gwyndlene E. (Donald) Mathews of Greensburg, Mary C. (John) Vail of Clarksburg, and Martha L. (Hubert) Wilhoit of Greensburg; sons, Charles G. Artmeier of New Martinsville, W.Va., Dr. Richard A. (June) Artmeier of Mt. Dora, Fla. and David A. (Connie) Artmeier of Rushville; God child, Martha Rose Blankman of Greensburg, 17 grandchildren; three step grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; nine step great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and two step great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by daughter, Rosamond Gunnels; sons, Roscoe and Don Artmeier; one step grandson, Shannon Skinner; sisters, Dorothy Bruner, Jessie Deiwert and Opal Carson; and brothers, Ross Granger, Jeff Granger and George Granger.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home in Greensburg with Msgr. Harold Knueven officiating. Burial will follow in Clarksburg Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with a Rosary service at 7 p.m.
