William Curtis “Bill” Smith, 72, of Gallipolis, Ohio died July 26, 2008.
Born Feb. 4, 1936 in Laurel, he was the son of Sylvester and Ethel Williams Smith, both deceased.
Mr. Smith retired from Federal Mogul after more than 30 years of service. He was a member of Anderson Lodge No. 96 F.&A.M.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Morgan Smith, who he married July 21, 1972; six children, Ronnie (Janice) Smith of Rushville, David (Lora) Smith of Brookville, Rebecca (Scott) Bottoms of Greensburg, Steven (Missi) Smith of Gallipolis, Alan Mantooth of Westminster, Md., and Karen Mantooth (Russ) Shaw of Bidwell; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, George (Kathryn) Smith of Rushville and Jim (Sharon) Smith of Columbus; and one sister, Martha (Ralph) Muckerheide of Greensburg.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded by a brother, Everett Smith.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home in Gallipolis with Bob Powell officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Rio Grande. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
