Alexis Carmony, Falmouth, will exhibit Angus cattle at the 2008 National Junior Angus Show at the Iowa State Fairgrounds, Des Moines, Iowa, July 13 through 19, Bryce Schumann, chief executive officer of the American Angus Association® reported.

Carmony, a junior member of the American Angus Association with headquarters in Saint Joseph, Mo., is one of 755 young Angus breeders from 37 states who have entered a total of 1,595 head in the show.

Mark Duffel, Aldie, Va., will judge the bred-and-owned breeding cattle and cow-calf pairs. Chris Sankey, Council Grove, Kansas, will evaluate the owned breeding heifers. Blake Bloomberg, College Station, Texas, will judge the steers.

The National Junior Angus Show is the largest single-breed registered beef cattle show in the world. This year's event will host a beef cook-off, team sales competition, public speaking, photography, graphic design, writing and poster contests in addition to the traditional cattle show.

The National Junior Angus Show is sponsored by the American Angus Association and the National Junior Angus Association (NJAA) and hosted by the Iowa Angus and Junior Angus Associations this year. The NJAA serves a membership of more than 10,000 junior Angus breeders in the United States and Canada.
