Few announcements of summer’s arrival are more welcome than a bowl of ice cream or a frothy milk shake. As consumers enjoy these delicious dairy products, we are reminded that June is National Dairy Month. To honor the dairy industry and all of its accomplishments, the 91 Farm Credit Services of Mid-America offices across a four state territory have designated Thursday as Dairy Days.
“No matter where you are in Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky or Tennessee, if you stop by a Farm Credit office on June 5 you’ll be treated to some form of celebration honoring the dairy industry,” Greg Hall, Financial Services Officer with the Rushville Farm Credit office, said. “Each office is sponsoring an event from hosting ice cream eating competitions, to serving up hot grilled cheese sandwiches, to demonstrating how ice cream is made.”
Locally, the Rushville office is treating you with ice cream.
“The idea is to highlight the accomplishments of dairy farmers and remind consumers of the important role dairy products play in our lives,” added Hall. “Hosting Dairy Days is a fun way to draw attention to the achievements of a hardworking and much deserved industry.”
