Rushville Republican Managing Editor Kevin Green recently accepted a promotion.

Effective Monday, Green is the Regional Managing Editor for both the Rushville Republican and its sister paper to the south, the Greensburg Daily News.

Laura Welborn, publisher for the Rushville Republican, Greensburg Daily News and Batesville Herald-Tribune, made the announcement that Green will oversee operations in both the Rushville and Greensburg newsrooms.

Welborn said she was excited to bring Green into this position.

“His editorial experience, and keeping the Rushville newsroom rolling smoothly, is an asset I'm sure he will bring to the GDN. Kevin has a passion for newspapers and I'm thrilled to have him working with the newsroom and sharing his knowledge,” Welborn said.

“I’m excited by this opportunity,” Green said. “I’m looking forward to working more closely with the staff in Greensburg as we continue to publish a great newspaper in Rushville.”

Adam Huening, formerly a staff writer at the GDN, also was promoted to the position of News Editor. He will oversee the day-to-day operations of the newsroom in Greensburg under Green’s direction.

Green will continue to spend most of his time in the Rushville office.
