50th Anniversary: Woods

RUSHVILLE — Larry Gene and Betty McConnell O'Neal Woods will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary from 2 to 5 p.m. Oct. 2 at the Rushville American Legion, First and Morgan streets. They invite family and friends to help celebrate their special day. No gifts please.

They married Sept. 30, 1961 at First Baptist parsonage with Rev. Ray Crawl officiating and Jesse (Ike) and Mary Ellen Smith attendants.

They combined his three children, Sandy, Rick and David Lee with her two children, Donald and Debbie O'Neal and how have 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Sandra Woods Shores lives in Gainsville, Fl., has two sons, Kenneth and Michael Bronn and five grandchildren. Rick lives in Palm Harbor, Fl., and has one daughter, Krista Creney, and one grandson. David Lee (deceased) of Evansville had one son, David E. Woods, with two grandsons and one daughter, Heather Brown, with one grandson. Donald O'Neal lives in Indianapolis and has two daughters, Abby and Kelly. Debbie O'Neal of Rushville has four children with seven grandchildren. Debbie's children are Nikki Revercomb of Indianapolis, Amy Johnson of Rushville with two daughters, Matthew Groover of Richmond Hill, Ga., and Jamie Glandon of Rushville with five grandchildren.

Larry and Betty met and retired from Connersville Rex/Ford Electronics and now both enjoy driving cars for Rushville car dealers.

They are members of Main Street Christian Church of Rushville and have been at home on Spencer Street for 49 years.
