68th Anniversary: Lanning

RUSHVILLE — Mr. and Mrs. Charles David Lanning Sr., of Rushville, will be observing their 68th wedding anniversary on Sept. 17, 2012, with a dinner with family and close friends.

There were married on Sept. 17, 1944, at Brookville Church of the Nazarene by the Rev. Carl Amos.

Mr. Lanning, a retired certified welder from New Castle Welding, is the son of the late Jesse Millard Lanning and Flavia Grace (Biere) Lanning.

Mrs. Lanning, who is a homemaker and an artist, is the daughter of the late Ralph and Bessie Mae (Bruner) Watkins.

They are the parents of Charles David Lanning, Jr., and wife Penny of Rushville and the late Mrs. Michael (Brenda Gay) Combs.

They have four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. One step-grandson, Cody Combs, is deceased.

They are active members of the Rushville Church of the Nazarene. Due to Mrs. Lanning's health, there will be no formal celebration, but cards would be appreciated.
