Dr. Jackman is a self-employed veterinarian and Indiana State Senator. The couple has two sons, Robert T. (Tammy) Jackman, DVM of Milroy and Nathan (Mandi) Jackman of Greensburg; and four grandchildren, Crosby, Courtney, Cameron and Emilee.
