Melvin and Maxine Bradburn will quietly celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary Friday with a family dinner in their honor in Greenfield.

Melvin Bradburn and the former Maxine McAlister were married Feb. 12, 1950 at Sexton Christian Church by the minister Richard Piper.

Mr. Bradburn retired from the Rush County Highway Department as assistant superintendent in 1994. Mrs. Bradburn is retired from clerical and restaurant work and is a homemaker.

They have two daughters, Jean (Ken) Stanley and Sue Kline, two granddaughters, Amy (Greg) Murphy and Heather (Mike) Carlton, all of Greenfield, and two great-grandsons, Brandon and Tyler Murphy of Greenfield.
