Rushville FFA members compete in State Animal Science Skill-a-Thon

---- — On Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013, thirteen members from the Rushville FFA chapter traveled to Purdue University to compete in the State Animal Science Skill-a-Thon contest.

Rushville entered one team in the FFA division and three teams in the 4H division. Their hard work and practice paid off as they walked away successful. The top 4H team for Rushville finished 2nd. This team consisted of Becca Riggs, Alex Orme, Devin Lux, and Heidi Schultz.

Rushville also had 4H teams who placed 9th and 11th respectively. Rushville’s FFA team won the FFA division. This team consisted of Cody Dawson, Matthew Neuman, and Mason Gordon.

Rushville also had contestants who performed very well individually. The following members finished in the top ten in the 4H division individually: Sarah Innis, 3rd; Becca Riggs, 5th; Austin Hubbell 10th. Rushville had two members in the FFA division who placed in the top ten. Mason Gordon was the top individual, and Matthew Neuman finished as the 3rd overall individual.
