Greenfield – Master gardeners in three counties have teamed up to offer a trio of events to help both beginning and experienced gardeners greet spring with everything they need for successful gardens.
Shelby County Master Gardeners will host a garden clinic from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Shelby County Fairgrounds. There will be lots of garden vendors and educational programs running throughout the day.
Hancock County Master Gardeners and Hancock County Herb Society will put on their annual plant sale the first weekend in May at the Hancock County Fairgrounds, 602 N. Apple St., Greenfield. Times are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. through 3 p.m. May 3.
Among the plants offered for sale are daylilies, hostas, grasses, tomatoes, peppers, geraniums, rosemary, marjoram, oregano, and many, many other herbs and perennials.
Rush County Master Gardeners will host its fourth annual Gardenfest from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 17 at the Rush County Fairgrounds. The theme is “Go Green” as the group promotes recycling and being earth-friendly.
There will be lots of garden vendors with plants, tools, ideas, and more. Six educational programs featuring gardening and recycling will run throughout the day. Kids Corner will keep kids busy with free activities like planting seeds and doing crafts while parents shop.
